GSK

GSK's lengthy and rich history has been depicted on a new internal website. This showcases not only their brand, but also customer habits in personal health and general medicinal and pharmaceutical history. Keepthinking was selected to design and develop a website to showcase this historic collection to be accessible only to GSK colleagues in the first instance; as well as to implement the archive system (our very own Qi) to manage this historic collection.

GSK_0_Home
  • A responsive internal website, designed to serve as an entrypoint for GSK staff to explore the extensive archive of the organisation. The main page includes a way to search immediately, as well as highlighted content curated by the archival team themselves.

    GSK_1_Homepage
  • On first landing in the collection section, the user is greeted by curated themes of archival content, as well as the main collection search. These allow for highlighted objects to be brought to the fore, and gives users an opportunity to be guided through parts of the collection.

    GSK_2-1_Collections_Themes
  • The single theme landing page includes a featured image, details about the theme, and the them objects in a module at the end of the page. This gives the users the chance to browse between objects, seeing connections and discovering the collection’s range.

    GSK_2-2_Collections_Single Theme
  • The user is also greeted with a ‘browse’ on the collections landing page, that sits alongside the main collection search and the themes tab. The browse gives users the chance to browse the collection using the archival structure as their starting point. The hierarchy opens in a tree that is fully navigable, with the user able to learn more about the level or record they are interested in.

    GSK_2-3_Collections_Browse
  • The single object record includes record details, imagery (if the record has any), media; as well as the archival hierarchy on the side, to facilitate onward browsing.

    GSK_2-4_Collections_Single record
  • The website also includes stories; longer pieces of content on a variety of content that draws together archival objects, GSK history as well as the work that the archive team do. The landing page includes all stories, but then the user is able to filter down through the various categories and browse the stories that way.

    GSK_3_Stories
  • A single story includes a featured image, the assigned story categories as well as the story content itself. Objects can be embedded within the content, either as single object or carousel.

    GSK_3-1_Single story
  • The about pages connect with the wider GSK history and also provide links directly to content on the overarching GSK website.
